Variable Inductance Ac Resonant Test Systems are used to generate a continuous sinusoidal high voltage signal. These systems use the resonance between the capacitive test object and the inductive HV reactor of the test system. They are fitted with additional voltage taps also called “bushings” to achieve a large capacitance of test objects at low test voltage. Their special mechanical design creates low noise and partial discharge level. They need very less maintenance over their entire lifetime.

AC Resonant Test System is used for testing of high voltage capacitors, cables, motors, generators, and gas-insulated switchgears. It provides higher duty cycle due to its excellent cooling properties. The oil-cooled HV reactor is fixed on a closed container made of steel and insulating cylinders. The individual models can be installed over one another. There are alterable inductance and metal tank kind of this system which use the resonance property of test objects.

Variable Frequency AC Resonant Test Systems are used in broad capacitive devices for AC voltage test. These can be used in GIS, power cables, SF6 circuit breakers and so on. The frequency spectrum of the systems can vary from 20Hz to 300Hz with the help of perfect tuning capacitor. These are also used for partial discharge test of coupling capacitors, instrument transformers and metal oxide surge arresters with determined voltage under 1000kV.
